23/24 Examples of Work & Photos

This statement confirms that my children, River Canales, Austen Canales, and Chase Canales, have completed a minimum of 180 days of school during the 2023/2024 academic year, fulfilling the attendance requirements set forth by the state of Pennsylvania.

Chase's state evaluation scores. It says "not completed" but I think this is a glitch, as I double-checked all assessments to ensure they were completed.

 Our Garden

Last gardening season we grew peppers, beans, zinnias, sunflowers, tomatoes, blueberries, spinach, corn, sugar snap peas, and one scrawny cucumber. The kids helped in the garden weekly, planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.

Roadtrips

This past school year, we made it to Virginia Beach, Upstate New York to scale the rocks at Pixley Falls, and Lake Erie.

Outdoor Play

Hours upon hours have been spent outdoors playing family games of baseball, enjoying the snow, climbing the playground, going on walks and hikes, riding bikes around the neighborhood, and swimming in the pool.

Around the Table

Working in their math books, reading poetry, handwriting, spelling, playing games. etc.

Cooking and Baking

River is our resident chef-in-the-making, but even Chase and Austen enjoy cooking occasionally! Austen learned how to make homemade pasta and both girls love making baked goods.

Artistic Endeavors

Some photos of the kids' work this year.

A commissioned art piece River made for his uncle.

A sweet little duck Austen drew at the beginning of the year.

The stuffed owl Chase made as a gift for a friend.
