Hamlet (April-June)

Start with the intention of reading one story over the course of 3 months, for familiarity and at least a surface understanding of context. More if too little, or less if it requires more concentration or becomes too overwhelming. Chapter books and more sophisticated adaptations with River and Austen, with a focus on picture books with the Austen and Chase, ending each study with a performance or adaptation in movie form if available.

Poetry

Continue poetry teatime Tuesdays. Read from a variety of collections, making a point to include BIPOC poets (especially Latinx poets), and continue recitation and memorization.

Begin the study of poetry writing using the book Teaching Poetry: Yes You Can! in October after a month of Brave Writer creative exercises.
